There is nothing as amazing as seeing an artist get lost in his work to the point where he forgets the audience is there.
The first time I saw the video of Eric Lewis playing on the TED Talks stage, I remember crying at the sheer the brilliance of his performance that stirred something in my soul.
Lewis begins by plucking the piano strings, then moves into playing a gentle melody which suddenly turns into a beautiful chaos. At the climax of the piece, he takes an unpredictable turn, and takes it back to the original gentle melody.
It’s a musical journey that speaks to your soul in a way your mind will never fully comprehend. You don’t have to be a music maestro to understand the music. I encourage you to listen to the entire performance to fully understand the journey.
